Captain Les Dupuis is a native of Donkin, Nova Scotia. He started his firefighting career with the Canadian Armed Forces in 1992 and developed from a Recruit Firefighter to Crew Chief. He is a Fire Service Instructor for the following courses: Structural Fires, Aircraft Rescue Firefighting, Automobile Fires and Casualty Extrication Ops, Confined Spaces, Special Problem Fires, Shipboard Fire Fighting, Classroom Instruction, Fire Inspections, Medical Ops and Training Ops. After 7 years service as DND Fire Service, Captain Dupuis accepted a position as a firefighter at the Greater Toronto Airports Authority Emergency Services in February of 1999. He was promoted to a Captain of the training department In July of 2004. He is a Training Officer and certified by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and Oklahoma State University for the following National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards:
- NFPA STD 472 Hazardous Materials Incidents Responder (Awareness, Operator & Technician Level)
- NFPA STD 1001 Firefighter Level I, II
- NFPA STD 1002 Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator
- NFPA STD 1003 Airport Firefighter
- NFPA STD 1021 Fire Officer Level I
- NFPA STD 1031 Fire Inspector Level I, II
- NFPA STD 1035 Public Fire Educator level I
- NFPA STD 1041 Fire Service Instructor Level I
