Captain Rob Lenders is a native of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, and started his career with the Canadian Armed Forces in 1985. Captain Lenders transferred from Combat Arms in 1990 to become a Firefighter with DND Fire Service and eventually became Platoon Chief. Captain Lenders has skills in emergency firefighting procedures and is a Fire Service Instructor of: Structural Fires, Aircraft Rescue Firefighting, Automobile Fires and Casualty Extrication Ops, Confined Spaces, Special Problem Fires, Shipboard Fire Fighting, Hazardous Material Incidents, Classroom Instruction, Fire Inspections, Fire Investigation, Medical Ops and Training Ops. After 20 years service with the DND, Captain Lenders accepted the position of Fire Service Instructor at the GTAA Emergency Services in October of 2005.
Captain Lenders is certified by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and Oklahoma State University for the following National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards:
