Under WHMIS legislation, everyone who is exposed or is likely to be exposed to hazardous materials is required to receive WHMIS training so that they have the knowledge to identify hazards and protect themselves from accidents or illness.
This course will provide vital information about hazardous materials in the work place and the potential danger to workers who handle, store, transport, or dispose of them.
You will receive an overview of all the related concepts involved with WHMIS including legislation, hazardous symbols, supplier and workplace labels, material safety data sheets, and prevention and worker education. |
SO-102 - First Aid / CPR

| Description: |
You will receive basic information about first aid and CPR. The content includes prevention, assessment and protocol for entry into the Emergency Medical System. You will receive instruction on managing selected accident situations (including bleeding, shock, head and spinal injuries) musculoskeletal injuries, poisoning, environment injuries and eye, abdominal, chest, crush injuries and medical emergencies. You will also receive in depth theory and practice of adult, child and infant resuscitation skills by one and two rescuers. |
SO-103 – Fire Extinguisher (Training Centre Only)

| Description: |
This course provides basic information on the precautions and procedures necessary for fire protection and safety in the workplace. Topics covered include fire prevention techniques, the types and classes of fires and fire extinguishers, and first aid procedures for dealing with fire-related injuries. As well, participants will be provided hands-on training and extinguish live crib and oil pan fires. This course is appropriate for all employees. |
