SO-301 - Defensive Tactics

SO-302 - Control Tactics

An introduction to subject manipulation through various control techniques. Wrist locks, take-downs and other techniques are demonstrated and practiced by the students. |
SO-303 - Baton Training

An introduction to the use of the baton in law enforcement. Topics include maintenance, target selection, striking techniques and weapon retention. Both straight and expandable batons courses offered. |
SO-304 - Handcuffing

| Description: |
This course instructs the student in the maintenance and application of handcuffs to a subject in the standing, kneeling or prone position. Emphasis is placed on the quick and smooth application of standard, hinged or rigid handcuffs. |
SO-305 - Ground Fighting / Grappling

| Description: |
This course is an introduction to the basics of fighting on the ground. From falling safely, to establishing a position of safety, students will be taught a variety of defensive and offensive tactics. Dynamic application of this training is also available. |
SO-306 - Edged Weapon Defense

| Description: |
This course identifies a variety of knives and other weapons found on arrested subjects. The effectiveness of soft body armour is addressed. The practical portion instructs the student in a simple, but effective, defense technique, focusing on counter-attack and survival. Dynamic application of this training is also available. |
SO-307 - Dynamic Scenarios

| Description: |
Training scenarios are offered where the student must evaluate available information, formulate a plan and carry out that plan. These scenarios allow the instructor to determine if the student is knowledgeable in the relevant subject matter and assess the effectiveness of the student's application of physical techniques in a dynamic setting. |
SO-308 - O.C. Spray / Foam

Students receive in-class instruction on O.C. spray or foam, discussing the history, composition, application and de-contamination procedures. A practical training session with inert training O.C. is followed by application of live O.C. (volunteers only) |
